ABOUT CONNIE

Connie

I’m a mom of two adult boys and married to my sweetheart for 26 years.  He’s a fire fighter with nearly 30 years of experience and does wildland firefighting as a volunteer.

Our oldest son, Brian, works for Alaska Airlines as a Customer Service agent so he travels the world because it’s cheap. This year he’s been to France, Scotland, Japan, Korea,  South Africa, and Mexico.   Within the US, he’s traveled to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Anaheim,  and Philadelphia (where one of his travel mates was mugged – the only problem they encountered in all their travels!).  Next he’s off to Africa.

Our youngest, Alex, is in his Senior year at Washington State University where he’s studying  Wildlife Management. He’s scuba certified but has only had the time and money to dive around our home in Seattle.  He also likes fencing and belonged to the fencing club at school.

I’m a work-at-home mom who didn’t start working at home until the kids were grown. A neurological disorder caused chronic fatigue and cost me my dream job.  After several years of feeling ill without knowing what was wrong, I was finally diagnosed in 2007.  I now take contract work in my former field and own two online stores.

I have three dogs who are my “babies” now. A 4lb Maltese named Grace; Jewel an 11pd Pomeranian for whom I named my first online store; and a 50+ lb, somewhat overweight, but still energetic Brittany named Blaze.

Marge with Granddaughter Lyndsi

Mom to five adult children, the youngest just turned 40. Grandmother to too many to count, and great-grandmother to two.  Widowed in 1988, I moved for a short time to Ocean Shores, Washington, but I missed my family so moved back home into a Mother-in-Law apartment with my middle daughter.  I’ve spent the last few years quilting, crafting, and helping my daughter Connie with her business.  I pack and ship and help out in whatever ways I can.

Connie and I have started doing Investment Cooking recently. It’s a great way to save money and we’ve had fun cooking together.  We don’t always agree on the ingredients (Connie is a vegetarian who likes mushrooms and I won’t touch them) but we make some fantastic meals for the freezer.
