Review: Rubbermaid LunchBlox Sandwich Kit

I’ve become anti-plastic over the last few years and have been removing as much as possible from our lives as possible. One place I make an exception is in my husband’s lunch. My husband RARELY remember to bring home his lunch containers so I don’t want to spend a fortune on something that inevitably has to be replaced. Buying new containers is cheaper and easier than trading in the hubby.

But even though I use plastic, I only use quality lunch containers. They must be BPA-free. Thankfully Rubbermaid makes a great line of storage containers that meet my tough standards and they’re perfectly sized for my husband. Their Rubbermaid LunchBlox kits come in several sizes and the beauty of them is that the pieces mix and match and lock into place on their Blue Ice™ pack. Such a clever design to keep the containers upright and spill-free!

We sampled the Rubbermaid LunchBlox Sandwich Kit which includes two small containers (1/2 cup each), one medium container (1-1/2 cups), and a sandwich size container – great portion-controlled sizes! All of the containers stack to save space and stay organized in your bag. The containers are safe for the dishwasher, microwave (although I never heat in plastic containers), and freezer.  What I loved about the set is that it can be used in so many combinations with and without the Blue Ice™ pack .

So what can you pack in your Rubbermaid LunchBlox Sandwich Kit? That’s the best part – anything you can think of! Yogurt, fruit, vegetables, cheese, nuts, chips, etc. It’s perfect for kids old enough to manage their own snap-on lids so 2nd grade and up for most kids.

Rubbermaid LunchBlox Sandwich Kits are available at Rubbermaid.com, Kroger, Target, HEB, Kmart, Safeway, Bi-Lo, Winn-Dixie, and other grocery stores as well as select Wal-Mart stores.
