Arm & Hammer Spin Brushes – Cool “My Way” Design allows kids to personalize their toothbrushes!
Champions for Kids SIMPLE Service Project – Spin Into Action Campaign
I was just introduced to the Champions for Kids organization and I’m so impressed by what they do! They’re a service organization that works to promote service projects in the community to provide children and families with the basics they need for good health and hygiene.
I had the pleasure of participating in the Champions for Kids SIMPLE Service Project – Spin Into Action Campaign .The goal is to get toothbrushes and other dental care items in the hands of kids and to give them the education they need to know how to properly use the items. Plus they’re working to assist the parents on the importance of oral care for their children.
I shopped at my local Walmart store recently to pick up some items to donate (see my shop in pictures). With the information I gained by watching the video below, I picked out several Arm & Hammer Spinbrushes, kid-friendly toothpaste, and kid teeth flossers. I chose sizes from toddler to teen and designs that would be attractive to the very young as well as the older tween.

It’s been a while since I’ve purchased kids’ teeth cleaning gear, but it’s great to see that there are still so many designed to fit the smaller hands and mouths of kids. Plus they have so many wonderful colors and designs to help encourage kids to use them. One place we never scrimped on when the kids were growing up was their oral hygiene – so many health problems can be linked back to improper dental care.
Here’s how the Spinbrush Spin Into Action SIMPLE Service Project works:
Gather your family, friends, and co-workers to collect toothbrushes, toothpaste, and other dental care items for children in your community.
Give the dental care items that you collected to an organization in your community that serves children (like a school, religious organization, or nonprofit) so that kids in your community can celebrate with healthy smiles and happier lives!
Tell us how many items you donated and how many people were involved at http://www.championsforkids.org/report so that we can include you in our goal to mobilize 20 Million people by 2020 to become Champions for Kids!
Thank you for helping to improve the lives of children in your community.
Filling up my cart with kids’ dental products – it’s been a long time since I shopped for them!
I have been thinking about where the best place to donate the Arm & Hammer Spin Brushes, tooth paste, etc., and finally decided on a local elementary school. I remembered back to when I was a school secretary and thought about how often personal care items were needed for children, especially at the beginning of the year. Unfortunately, the school didn’t have the budget to provide them and although I tried, I was unable to find a source for donations. Many times I purchased the items and gave them to the children or family myself. It seemed fitting to then provide these where they’d get right in the hands of some school-age children in need.
My niece is a 3rd –year school teacher who teaches 5th grade at a local elementary school. She’ll pass the donation on to the school nurse for distribution. My niece was thrilled to have the items for kids in need and I was so happy to have had a small part in helping them out.
Some child is going to love this new Captain America toothbrush! How fun!
Purchases made and ready to get them ready for donation!
Please check out the Champions for Kids website for more ideas on how you and your family can do simple service projects that will benefit the families in your area. Teaching kids how to be of service to others is a great learning experience and it’s one that bears repeating often.
