You’ve probably noticed I’m a bit sentimental when it comes to all things family and none more so than my sweet husband. We’re about to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary in October (seriously, how in the world did it get to be #29?!?) and I recently celebrated a little early by designing a pillow to commemorate our special day so long ago with custom pillows online from Zazzle.
Custom Printing – Easy DIY Designing
I’ve used Zazzle many times over the years but more when the kids were in Jr. High and High School. I made ceramic tiles with important events on them including roles my son had in musicals and sporting events they competed in. Those tiles are packed away somewhere in that 25-years of kids’ memories in the garage we’re working on going through, but this new pillow is smack dab in the middle of our bed and I love that it’s an everyday item that commemorates one of the best days in both of our lives.
Zazzle custom prints just about anything you can dream up on some pretty amazing items including mugs, cups, t-shirts, cards, posters, and so many more fun and unique things. Designing your own item is super easy and there are visual and written clues all along the way to help you out so that you’ll love the item you receive!
Designing my pillow was a lot of fun. I took part of the Beatle’s song, “There are Places I Remember,” which my husband’s cousin sang to us at our wedding as a gift and added them to both sides of a pillow in a great neutral gray which matches our new master bedroom remodel and more importantly will go with future changes as well. Then I superimposed our wedding year, 1983, in a nice big grungy font over the top of the lyrics on one side and our initials, “S & C,” on the other. Zazzle gave me a photo of what my pillow would look like on my order page and once I was happy with it I just checked out and waited for my pillow to arrive.

Not feeling creative? Don’t worry; there are tons of premade designs made from artists all over the world available on the site. There are also two sizes currently available so if you prefer a traditional square pillow that’s available too. And don’t think you’re limited to monochrome – that was my personal design choice – the pillows can be printed in a rainbow of color!
What I love about the pillows is that they’re made of 100% grade A cotton and they’re made in the US by MoJo; a company which employs single women. The founders both had made their fortunes and they wanted to give back, so they created this company where women can make a living wage, get some schooling, and be supported while they work to take care of their kids and hold a job. I love that my pillow supports that!
The pillow arrived and I nearly cried. It looked exactly like the picture and I couldn’t have loved it more. I was so excited to give it to my husband that I didn’t wait until our anniversary – I gave it to him for Father’s Day. I keep meaning to take a picture of it in its place of prominence on our new king size bed – it’s perfect and it’s certainly on the top of my list for the next wedding or anniversary gift I need to purchase.
