Quote: Five Father’s Day Quotes to Celebrate Dad on His Special Day

Father’s Day is this weekend and it’s always bittersweet for me. I lost my dad to lung cancer 24 years ago but I also like to celebrate my husband and the fabulous father he is. So I thought I’d celebrate dad’s everywhere with a few of my favorite quotes – some sweet, others funny, and some just a reminder that we’re here to do our best.
This first quote about dad’s is so very true for us! Our kids are 24 and 26 and we still have not cut them off and probably never will. Our theory on child-raising is the moment you decide to have children you’ve committed to a lifetime of loving and caring for them – and sometimes that means supporting them financially because you want to and not because they need it or you have to.

Bill Cosby, such a wise guy! He’s completely correct on this one – you have a 50/50 chance of screwing up your kids…but that means you have a 50% chance of getting it right, too. He also generated the next quote which makes me giggle because nothing ever happens in our house unless you’re in the bathroom. The phone will ring, someone will be at the door, or some other emergency will happen.

This applies for moms, too

And probably my favorite parenting quote taken from a 2011 speech President Barack Obama gave in 2011. It reminds us that kids are pretty resilient and parents are going to make mistakes. Its how we handle the mistakes that makes us great parents.
