Disney •Pixar is celebrating the upcoming release of the animated movie BRAVE on June 22, 2012 with this great BRAVE-inspired recipe from the highlands of Scotland.
According to Instructable.com, Scotch Eggs were a Middle Ages delicacy that came about out of the necessity of the Scottish farmers and shepherds who required their meals to-go. Long before McDonald’s took over the drive-through market, families were making food and brown bagging it, and this was one of the more popular dishes for the field. It was easily pocketed to eat with a loaf of bread and a drink; now it’s a very popular pub meal with a pint of stout beer!
It’s a meal Merida’s mother likely served her family though as royalty, she’d have never prepared them herself.
