Hasbro’s Classic Battleship Movie Edition and a KRE-O Combat Chopper Set

To commemorate the May 18th release of Universal Pictures ”Battleship” film in theaters, Hasbro has updated and just released a movie tie-in game!  The new game takes the traditional Battleship game and kicks up the fun with details from the new movie including an alien fleet! The alien fleet battles the traditional Navy in a redesigned game board that links together for easy carrying.  It also includes movie-based “Special Ops” cards to add even more fun to the game.

The challenge of the Hasbro’s Classic Battleship Movie Edition game is the same as the original edition – dominate and destroy the other player’s ships.  But this new version you’re battling for more than the seas, it’s a search-and-destroy mission to save the earth!

The total number of ships is equal on both sides and while they’re shaped completely different, it takes the same number of hits to sink the opponents crafts. The Alien fleet is made up of their Flagship, a Heavy Ordnance Craft, a Small Assault Ship, and more. The Navy’s fleet contains an arsenal of vessels able to take on the aliens and includes the time honored Aircraft Carrier, the Battleship, the Japanese and American Destroyers, as well as the Rigid-Hulled Inflatable Boat.

The new version includes the same grid concept and players call out the coordinates for their attack and the opponent lets you know if you hit or miss. This isn’t an electronic version; it’s a twist on the traditional game. The 2-player game is recommended for kids age 7 and up.

Ready for more action?!? Check out the KRE-O Combat Chopper - it fires two missiles, the rotor blades spin, and it comes with two figures!  Build it from the 174 included pieces and get ready to battle!  Recommended for kids ages 7-14.

This film is said to be an “epic-scaled action-adventure” film that takes place in the skies and on the sea as the Navy battles to save the earth. See it in theaters on May 18, 2012.
