Thursday night Mary J. Blige lit up the Avalon in Hollywood, California on 2/9/12 at the (BELVEDERE) RED pre-Grammy special event. Belvedere is lending its support to the RED campaign who’s goal is to see an AIDS-free generation of newborns by 2015 in Africa. Blige walked the red carpet in a stunning gold one-shoulder, sparkling dress and shared why she supports the RED campaign. She stopped to sign the Belvedere bottle and then went inside to ready for her show. She changed into an all-black, form-fitting outfit for her performance and then she took to the stage for a 40-minute set that had the crowd screaming the entire time.
The Livestreamed performance shared the soulful Mary J Blige nationwide – I was one of the thousands who watched the special performance via Facebook. Blige sang hits like “No More Drama” and “You Bring Me Joy,” and as a special tribute to (RED), she performed her interpretation of Bono’s “One.” She spoke to the audience and put on an amazing show. It was a fabulous performance!
During the special event, Belvedere donated $1 for each tweet of #BELVERED from the night to the Global Fund to fight AIDS/HIV in Africa.
We sent one of our favorite Cali bloggers to the event and she promises to tell us all about attending this amazing event soon. We’re looking forward to hearing the inside scoop on this exclusive event. Special thanks to Belvedere Vodka for allowing us to send a correspondent.
