If you’re like me, you’re in a mad dash to finish up your holiday shopping, but that doesn’t mean you have to step foot into the local mall that’s overcrowded and deal with the parking lot craziness! No way! I’m shopping online like I do most of the year – I even order my groceries online and have them delivered. I like the convenience, the ability to bargain and comparison shop, and the freedom to do it on my own time.
This year MasterCard wants to reward you for shopping online! Just register your MasterCard* at the MasterCard Here’s To Mom website and then go shopping and you’ll earn a $20 gift card after spending $200 in qualifying purchases! Yes, it’s that easy to be rewarded for finishing up your holiday shopping!
Registering Your MasterCard
Registering took less than a minute at the MasterCard Here’s to Mom website. It took me longer to dig my card out of my wallet to get my number than it did to register. There’s just one step to registration – type in your name, email address, card number, and then the security code (to prove you’re not a bot) and you’re in! Then shop with your card (non-pin transactions) and once you hit $200 in spending (in one purchase or multiple) you’ll receive an email message that you’ve qualified and you’ll be given instructions on how to claim your card. I told you it was easy! The offer ends on 12/31/11 at 11:59:59 pm CT, so you have until then to qualify!
Who Can Participate?
You must be a legal resident of the US and be 18 years or older as of 11/15/11. Other restrictions apply. See Offer Terms & Conditions for complete information.
So how will I be earning my MasterCard Here’s To Mom Gift Card? Well first I stopped by Duane Reade the largest and most recognized drugstore chain in Metropolitan New York, but since I don’t live in NYC, I shopped their online store. There I made my husband a photo book through HP & SnapFish. For some reason I’ve become very nostalgic recently. Maybe it’s because I finally had the video tapes of our children’s childhoods converted from Hi8 video tape to digital. It is so amazing being able to see and hear my babies again, nearly 25 years later, but it reminds me how very long ago that was. I started scanning photos about 6 months ago and decided to work them into a book for my husband. I cried making it and I fully expect him to cry when he receives it.
Making the book was easy – I scanned through all the available layouts and backgrounds (there are adorable Disney designs like Pooh and Princesses!) and I settled on a nostalgic theme. It’s very reminiscent of the 60′s when I was a child. I started the book with a photo from our first Christmas together and then filled it with photos from our courtship and wedding and then the arrival of each son.
Building my Snapfish Book from Duane Reade
Trying to cram 30 years into one book was impossible so I did the first probably 5 years and I love it. The book ends with us being silly – we’d made a snowman in the backyard and we’re hiding behind it because one son is pelting us with snowballs and the other, 5 at the time, was taking the picture. It’s perfectly imperfect and fits us so well.
The total cost for this piece of art that will surly be a family heirloom? Under $15 and free express shipping so it’ll be here in time for Christmas. I’m so excited to give it to my husband. I imagine us sitting in front of the fire, the tree lit, him with a glass of wine, me with a sugar cookie, and the two of us reminiscing about what a wonderful life we’ve had. Now that’s priceless.
