We used to travel from Seattle to Victoria about once a year. Unfortunately, the laws have changed and we now need a special driver’s license or passport to get through the border. Unfortunately, we have neither. Before the rules changed, my mother and I took our niece, Lyndsi, to Victoria to celebrate her High School Graduation. Lyndsi lives in Texas and while she lived in Washington for a few years, she’d never experienced the beautifulness that is Victoria.
We took the Black Ball Ferry Line from Port Angeles to Victoria. We’ve been just about every route to Victoria, but this was the first time for the Coho – we loved it! The best part of taking this route is you have an amazing view of Victoria’s harbor, the Empress, and their water museum that you just can’t get any other way. We stayed at the sweetest bed and breakfast over in the University area that also allowed a great walk to the city as well as outstanding views. We took lots of photos of the amazing gardens at the B&B as well as the room, but somehow I’ve misplaced them.
We did a tour through The Butchart Gardens. The most amazing display of flowers and greens that I must see on every trip. The photos below are my amateur effort to show the stunning gardens. Visit their site to see how amazing they truly are.
One of these days I’ll become legal and make the trip again. I can’t go too long without the little bit of England right up north in Canada, my favorite place to visit.
