General Mills Day 2 – Honey Nut Cheerios

Posted by Connie - February 23, 2010 - Cooking and Food, Expired Contests

Today is Honey Nut Cheerios day!  For some odd reason, I don’t think I’ve ever tried these!  Now I love Cheerios, have since I was little and they were one of the first finger foods I gave my kids when they were little, so I have fond memories of them.  I guess I prefer the original Cheerios, but I know these are the flavor my kids loved as they got older.

I was a Ms. Pacman fiend, but I did love the Atari.  It brought gaming out of the pizza restaurants and sleazy coin-op playspaces and into the home.  Atari games are now available online!  I was excited to see some of my old fav games are available again.  Check out Atari Video Games online website – they have some fun retro t-shirts as well.

Retro on the left; current on the right

ENTER TO WIN! Winner Chosen

General Mills has provided me with 6 prize packages to share with you! Five different retro box prize packs and one grand prize, an Atari Game Console!   Today is day 2!  Visit every day for a chance to win additional prize packages and then we’ll choose one comment from all five days to receive the Atari prize package!

Comment below your favorite Atari game.  I realize most of you are not old enough to have played the original (yes, I’ve  feeling really old now – giggle) so you’re welcome to check out the Atari site and choose one from there.

Regular contest rules apply.  Open to US residents only. Your information will be provided to General Mills and they will send you the prize pack directly.  Contest ends 02/24/10 at 11:59 PM PST.

Disclosure:  I received 5 boxes of cereal, a retro t-shirt, and $10 Target Gift Card.  I am not expected to return them.  Opinions are my own.

WINNER DAY 2 – Julia Semans!

  24. barbara wright says:

I loved Atari. When my sister and I lived in the same town, we bought one together and planned on switching it back from house to house. But after the first night she had it at her house, she called me up and told me I had to keep it because she played it all night (and she still had to go to work in the morning)!!

I would like to say Donkey Kong was my favorite, but that was REALLY disappointing when it came out – nothing like the actual arcade game. So I probably liked Circus the best. That was the one where a clown jumped onto your see-saw and you had to bounce him up to get all the balloons.

And quite honestly, I love listening to the sounds from all those old games – they weren’t high-tech, but they bring back a lot of nice memories!
