General Mill’s Retro Style Cereal Available at Target For A Limited Time!

Posted by Connie - February 22, 2010 - Cooking and Food, Expired Contests

Target stores nationwide are carrying five limited-edition General Mills cereal boxes featuring fun “Retro” package designs and premium offers from the 60s and 80s. These will be in store until March 7.  Now it pains me to hear these called ‘retro” as they’re the boxes I remember as a kid!  I grew up on  Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Honey Nut Cheerios, Trix, and Lucky Charms.  I have fond memories of watching cartoons on Saturday mornings, eating my fav cereal, and being entertained by their commercials.

I also loved the free prizes inside, although being one of five kids, it wasn’t very easy to get one. I liked the mail in offers better because my siblings were more interested in the instant gratification and hated anything that took a little work.  That left it open for me!

I no longer eat most of these cereals, having switched to natural or organic cereals, but when they sent me a box of each, I did sneak a taste or two before my oldest son finished them off. He didn’t seem to have a favorite, they all disappeared very quickly!

Each child stands in the square and throws the ball to one of the other children in the squares. The children never know which player will be thrown the ball. The constant throwing of the ball is the fun of the game. I played this at recess with my friends in junior high and loved it!
