Is “‘Better Off Ted” Dead?

It seems like every new television show that I find that I love because it’s witty, smart, and fun gets canceled. Unfortunately, it appears my streak of bad luck is going to continue with one of my favorite shows, “Better Off Ted”.

Last week it was announced that Andrea Anders was joining the cast of Matthew Perry’s new show ‘Mr. Sunshine.’ OK, I didn’t worry too much, she’s great, but I can see them working around the loss.  But today, I’d have to say that the announcement of the show’s star, Ted himself, Jay Harringon has been cast in a new NBC comedy pilot named “Nathan vs Nature”.  Granted, that won’t happen unless they formally cancel “Ted”, but it’s looking like that’s the way it’s going as major cast members are finding new work.

I’m so bummed. “BOT” is a great situation comedy that doesn’t do stupid slapstick, it’s clever and makes you think.  Their fake commercials are so well done that it took several episodes for my husband to catch on.  There are so many good episodes that I can’t pick just one.  If you haven’t seen it, hop on over to Hulu.com and check it out.  It’s amazing and evidently on the endangered species list.

Funny, as I write this I see “Cougar Town” has been renewed. Someone slap me, I just don’t get it.
