iTunes FREE SINGLE of the Week – Diane Birch “Rise-up”
How did I not know that iTunes gives away a free single every week? What a great way to try out new music without committing any cash! This week is a new single by Diane Burch called “Rise Up“.
According to Rolling Stone, “Diane Birch is a piano-playing preacher’s daughter with a shameless love for Sixties and Seventies soul and singer-songwriter pop.” She’s a well-traveled and worldly soul having lived from Zimbabwe to South Africa and Australia, before finally landing in Portland, Oregon, as a teenager. She credits Elton John as one of her influences and since I’m a huge Elton fan I was curious to give her a listen and I was not disappointed!
Diane’s music is touching, soulful, and simply amazing. Check out the free download from iTunes and then visit Vanity Fair for a free download of “Fire Escape”. It’s available in MP3 format, click here to download it. While I prefer the more 70′s Elton-ish “Fire Escape”, I can’t help but tap my foot to the revival-style “Rise-up”. It reminds me of my childhood bible camps held in tents on hot summer days.
You can connect with Diane on her FaceBook or MySpace pages.
Enjoy!
Connie
